It is my pleasure to write to you today as you prepare to celebrate Taiwanese American Heritage Week. Please accept my sincere wishes and congratulations to each and every one of you as you honor and celebrate your heritage.

There are many people of Taiwanese heritage in southwest Washington, and today we honor the contributions of the Taiwanese Americans contributions to culture, music, science and medicine. Vancouver is so very fortunate to be able to learn from the Taiwanese people and we appreciate your willingness to share your heritage with us.

Again, please accept my best wishes for a wonderful week of celebration as you share your heritage and traditions with the Vancouver community.
