TAHW STATEMENT FROM CONGRESSMAN MICHAEL CASTLE (R-DE):
May 2, 2001
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you
and the entire Taiwanese American community as you celebrate
Taiwanese American Heritage Week from May 13, 2001 - May 19,
2001. As you know, there are over 500,000 Taiwanese
Americans in the United States, and Delaware is fortunate to
have many of these dedicated, thoughtful and hard working
individuals living in the First State.
I am pleased to learn that Heritage Week is used to teach
and learn more about the many different Taiwanese Americans
who have helped contribute top the diversity and prosperity
of American society and to the world as a whole.
Again, congratulations to you and the Taiwanese American
Community as you celebrate your cultural accomplishments and
help enlighten others. I hope you enjoy your Heritage Week
and help promote diversity, which as you said, is Americas
greatest strength.
Bets wishes and personal regards,
Sincerely,
Michael Castle
Member of Congress
