"Dear China: We’re even more sorry"

"Dear China: We’re even more sorry"

We enjoyed reading Peter Bronson’s column on April 6, "Dear China: Sorry for what?" But we think we can add a few more to the dozen he shared with us.

Dear China:

We are sorry that you wold not treat our crewmen to a five-star hotel and send them back on the next available flight with no questions asked.

We are sorry that you would not seal the door of that EP-3 plane immediately after touchdown, and wait for the return mail stamp.

If you could have done these two things our hearts would be melted and you would get everything you wish for at Christmas.

We are sorry for our crew having to endure the moment of extreme death-fear when the plane dove nearly 1,000 feet.

We are sorry for the intense "yellow ribbon" worry of hundreds of the crewmen’s families.

We are sorry to close our eyes and ears to let you make more than 40 billion a year of our money by granting you special trade treatments.

We are sorry to reconsider the sales of the defense weapons to our first avenue of defense ally, Taiwan, and to help them with defense legislation, the Taiwan Security Enhancement Act, to face off your barbaric and substandard manners in the 21st century.

C.T. Lee
