Workshop 2000
In conjunction
with the annual TAA conference, June 9-12, FAPA HQ will
hold a lobbying workshop on Sunday, June 11. FAPA and TAA
are recruiting members of the Taiwanese-American community
in a joint effort to lobby the Senate to pass the Taiwan
Security Enhancement Act, which passed the House overwhelmingly
and is pending in the Senate.
The
TAA conference will last all day Saturday, June 10th,
followed by a full-day lobbying workshop hosted by FAPA
on Sunday, the 11th. On Monday, the group will
split up into teams by state of residency and lobby their
respective Senators.
Although
FAPA’s resources are limited, we will be partially subsidizing
room and food expenses during the two days of lobbying activity.
However, travel expenses will not be reimbursed.
